Surfside Beach SC

Surfside Beach SC is a diminutive area coastal town in Horry County, South Carolina. It may be little in size, but despite of this triviality, it does not hinder the undersized giant (in terms of vacation spots and activities) to pull more guests and visitors primarily because of its beautiful seas and varied water activities that suits not only the adults, but also the children alike. Apart from that, a wide array of hotels and accommodations span around the area which are a great helping vacationers fully enjoy their holiday.

Surfside Beach SC is also known for its nickname “The Family Beach”. However, it was primarily known as Roach’s Beach, but was renamed Floral Beach following the names of the new owner’s wife, Flora and daughter named Floramay. However, about 1920s, the land was transferred ownership to which the new owners further built up the area. It was around early 1950s when the town was formally called Surfside Beach SC.

Due to the catastrophic events, the land’s topmost layer was greatly washed out; however, this did not dampen the spirits of the owners. It was around late 1950s when six families where granted permanent residency in the area including the so-called summer time residents. From then on, the town’s reputation of being a family beach continued to establish, thus in some ways, it also becomes a favorite place to retire. Therefore the nickname “The Family Beach” is taken from its colorful and unique history.

As a Family Beach, Surfside Beach SC is persistently on the guard of the preservation of its unique culture and history. As it then emitted an air of intimacy surrounding around its area of scope, it therefore until now maintains that kind of ambience that nurtures every possible facet to make not only adults at home with the place, but more importantly, to send out an important message to children that in Surfside Beach SC, they have a home away from home.

Its approximately 2 miles of stretched out well-preserved coasts do not only offer this homey atmosphere, but also boasts of the many activities that one can enjoy while staying in this little cozy town.

A lot of restaurants and diners are sporadically scattered in the town from fastfood chains down to specialized food lounges to casual and formal restaurants  to give not only its residents with extensive dining options, but more so for its guests who want to enjoy and savor every bit of an experience while in Surfside Beach SC.

There are also parks where one can stroll or simply commune with nature. The town maintains its reputation as a child-friendly area wherein the family can fully enjoy their bonding moments together in a relaxed haven.
